Top 10 Children’s Books

Posted On Nov 12 2011 by

One of my beloved clients who is also a colleague asked me, “What are William’s top ten favorite children’s books.”

Why?  Because we were having a conversation about how difficult the holidays can be for people.

I told her that I read books to my inner child.  I had a wonderful collection of excellent ones.  These are all picture books.  Many are award winners.

Many of these make me laugh, some make me cry.  They all heal my inner child and make the dark season deeper and more lovely.

May these bless you as well.  And the children in your life.  All of these make great gifts.  Most of these came to me as gifts.

Not it any particular order.

The Donkey’s Dream

Where the Wild Things Are (Of course.)

Tear Soup

The Wreck of the Zephyr

Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening

Grandfather Twilight [GRANDFATHER TWILIGHT] [Hardcover]

The Polar Express (The Polar Express Twentieth Anniversary Edition )

Animalia

Tuesday (I read this one sitting at a tiny table in the children’s section of the famous, Powell’s in Portland, OR  and laughed so much I was almost embarrassed.)

The Painter and the Wild Swans (Picture Puffin) (This is out of print but still available.  Check your library, too.)

Walk in beauty,

William

P.S. Pass these on to all the children you want to bless.
